Freak Accident and Volleyball

I love this blog!  I know it doesn't always seem like it since I neglect it a lot, but I really do!  I love having this as an outlet, and being able to share my creative endeavors with the world wide web!  But it is tough to keep up a blog on a regular basis!  I have several blogs I follow and I am amazed by how they do it all!

Lately there has been a whirlwind of things going on around here.  Mostly it has been volleyball.  We have started our tournaments.  They didn't start out so great, but we have improved SO much!  This past weekend we went to a tournament in Nashville and won the silver bracket in our age group!  I was SO proud of my girls!  They played so hard!

There was a little while that I thought they might be playing without me.  I had a freak accident right before I left that sent me to the ER.  I stopped at WalMart before heading to pick up my assistant.  I was getting my purse out of the back of my Tahoe.  As I was closing the back end and stepping out of the way, I almost bumped into a car that was parked behind me, so I kind of twisted my body so I would miss it.  As I did, the door shut on my head.  If you have ever closed a door like this, you know how much force is behind it!  The corner of it hit the top of my head.  It didn't hurt at first, but I got right back into the car to look at what I just did.  I looked in the mirror and saw blood pouring out of my head behind my ear!  It seriously looked like something from CSI!  There was SO MUCH blood!  It freaked me out and I drove home...probably not the smartest decision, but like I said, I freaked out!  And I was only down the street.  My hubby looked at it and said I needed to go to the emergency room.  So, after entirely too long at the ER, I ended up getting 3 staples in my head.

It was definitely not how I pictured the weekend starting out!  And it was definitely just a freak accident.  The more I think about it, the more freaked out I get.  I'm just thankful I'm ok, and it was nothing serious.  I really thought I had cracked my skull!!

Ok, let's talk about more pleasant things!

Since we are talking about volleyball. let me show you what I made for my youngest little volleyball fan!  At the beginning of the season I figured there would be times that Olive would have to go to a tournament with me, so she had to have some volleyball gear!

The first thing I made her were some bibs.

I had a bunch of jeans that had stains, or holes in them and I didn't want to just throw them away.  I had been holding onto them for a while, and finally decided to make these bibs with them!  I got the idea on Pinterest...I know, you're shocked, right!

The volleyballs are a ribbon that I have had forever!

Each bib has a different stitch pattern above and below the ribbon.

Here is my sweet little model!

She loves her new bibs her Mommy made for her!

So does her brother!  He keeps trying to steal them!

Olive did go to a tournament with me one day and she wore her bib!  Everyone just loved it!  And she looked so cute!  Of course!

Next I will show you the volleyball taggie blanket I made for her!

  2. You should have been wearing your "volleyball helmet".
If you took more after your Dad, that Tahoe tailgate wouldn't have had a chance!!
    Love you!!
