Magazine Cross

Have you ever looked at the your old magazines and thought, "I hate to just throw those away...There has got to be something I can do with them."  Well there is!

I saw this idea on Pinterest and fell in love with it.  Savannah from the blog From Like To Love made the one I saw.  She said she probably wouldn't do it again because it took her so long to do it.  I found folding the magazines to be strangely therapeutic.   The repetitive, mindless motion was kind of nice.  Is that weird?  Of course that's the same reason I like knitting, so I guess it makes sense!

This cross is made up of one whole Better Homes and Gardens magazine!

Each page is torn out and folded many times.  I had a vase full of these folded pages!

I took the pages and just started wrapping them to make these discs.  I wanted it to be kind of abstract.

I really like it!  It is hanging in my hubby's new office!  He said he thought it looked really cool, so he would let me put it there.  Thanks Sweetie!  He's such a good hubby!

If I ever do something like this again I will probably do it a little differently.  I will use only the colored pages of the magazine, and not the ones with so much text on them.  I just like the colored parts better.

This did take a long time and a lot of patience, but I did most of it while watching tv at night with the hubby, so I didn't really even notice!

If you make one, I would love to see it!
